Hervey Bay Baptist Church is not a church that supports mission, it is a church in mission.

We believe mission starts in our own backyard and moves out to the world (Acts 1:8). Every person who attends Hervey Bay Baptist Church has their own mission field through the week – at work, school or out in the community.

“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few, therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out the workers into His harvest.” Luke 10:2

Our Global Missionaries

Please note: This is not an exhaustive list of the missionaries we support. Due to the hostile nature of some areas in which our global partners serve, we are unable to publicize their information. If you would like to learn about or support these particular partners, please contact our church office.

Wayne & Olya Zschech
Wayne first moved to Ukraine in April, 1993, just a week before his 18th birthday. His plan was to give God a year of his life before returning home to become a fighter pilot with the Royal Australian Air Force. God, however, had a better idea! … and now, Wayne is still there! Wayne’s wife, Olya, and their four children are all Ukrainian.
Max & Helen Sahl
Wycliffe Bible Translators
Max and Helen have served with Wycliffe Bible Translators at Ukarumpa, Papua New Guinea for the over 20 years as teachers of missionary kids (MK’s). This has enabled their parents to continue with the task of Bible translation.
Currently Max & Helen are transitioning to their next assignment at Kangaroo Ground, Melbourne, Australia where Max will take on the position of CEO of Wycliffe Australia in 2019.
College of Theology & Evangelism
The church supports the college financially and with specific mission trips as requested.
