Hervey Bay Baptist Church has a long association with ministry in Papua New Guinea and surrounding areas. Not only do we provide financial support to 3 missionary families that work in this region, but we also regularly send mission teams from the church for short term mission trips
Max and Helen Sahl and family are with Wycliffe Bible Translators and are based as Ukarumpa. Max is the Principal of the School and Helen assists with teaching.They have a vital role to play in teaching the children of missionaries involved in Bible Translation.
Norm and Chris Turtle are with Christian Radio Missionary Fellowship (CRMF) and are based in Garoka, PNG.
Ernie and Marilyn Gunders are missionaries with Tehillah Ministries Inc, are serving in Bougainville with the United Church of Papua New Guinea and this training is in demand in other parts of this region.
